In mid-January, the DCF board met in person in Maryland for a series of meetings and work activities. While we usually meet virtually, this series of sessions was important for doing some strategic planning to kick off the new Calendar Year, and to review the impact of our programs (through the help of our wonderful donors), and to finally be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our charity. While we are, in fact, the “3rd generation” leadership team of DCF, we paid tribute to our
founders and predecessors, and gave thanks for the generous people who have stood with us to continue this important work.
Here are some major areas where your help ensured that we could make a positive difference:
Ukraine:
When it became apparent that Russia’s deliberate strategy was to destroy Ukraine’s ability to provide heat and electricity for its people, we worked with our in-country partner to provide hundreds of brand-new, warm, children’s winter clothing to the families of 600 special needs children. With your help, we have literally saved innocent young lives.
India:
With increased funding for more advanced medical treatment, some of the children who participate in our Project Vijay initiative have been able to make great progress. One 10-year old girl is now able to walk for the first time!
